    itltrot, October '08 Feature Car

    • Member Name: itltrot

    • Real Name (first name only is fine):
    Dione or D

    • Description of your car: 1991 Ford Mustang LX (Gizmo)

    • Location: Ponca City

    • Occupation/School: Office Manager/Bookkeeping/Payroll

    • What is your main use for the car now: Gizmo is mostly a Garage Queen with 195k miles on the ticker.

    • What would you LIKE to use the car for in the future: Keep it the way it is but drive it more on the really nice days.

    • How did you get into cars: I’ve always been into cars. My dad had great love for muscle cars but wasn’t mechanical. I started working at a quick lube and started learning a few things here and there. Then I met Kenny. He taught me how to get my nails dirty.

    • Who or What motivates you to keep improving your car:
For the most part, I keep myself motivated. But if for some reason I start lacking motivation, I can always count on Gizmo. He likes to have his parts changed on a regular basis. Not to mention all the cars K has brought back to life.

    • Add a short story about anything to do with your participation in the hobby or your car here:
I love drag racing, from participating to watching. World Ford Challenge and Buick vs. Ford are my favorite events that we’ve been to. I also enjoy DH. I’ve met a lot of great people and really enjoy attending the meets when we can.

    • Mods: i.e. a list of aftermarket engine / suspension / interior / exterior / wheels / tires parts that you or the previous owner added:
Geez, this might take awhile. When I bought this car it was bone stock except for a Pro-M 75 mm mass air meter. Currently since the 331 exploded: Trick Flow track heat intake, Trick Flow 1” phelonic spacer, BBK 70 mm throttle body & EGR spacer, underdrive crank pulley, 130 amp alternator, Kirban AFPR, 255 lph fuel pump, MAC fender cold air, 2 row aluminum radiator, Black Magic electric fan, FMS 9 mm wires, smog delete, FMS unequal shorties, MAC o/f h pipe, Magnaflow mufflers, 3.55 gears, Ram heavy duty clutch, FMS aluminum driveshaft, driveshaft loop, BBK sub frames, Southside lower control arms, tubular uppers, adjustable clutch cable and quadrant, pro 5.0 shifter, rebuilt t5 transmission, white face cluster and a/c gauges, Cervini’s Stormin Normin 2.5” cowl hood, ultra crystal clear headlights and corners.

    • ET times, Dyno Numbers, Awards, Recognition, Race class:

    ET with 302 13.5 @ 98; dyno numbers 251 hp and 298 tq
    ET with 331 12.3 @ 110; dyno numbers 311 hp and 363 tq
    No awards.

    • Purchase: Approximate date. Is there a story behind the purchase? Was it your "dream car"? September 30, 2000. I had wanted a 5.0 for awhile. We got up super early one Saturday and drove to Dallas in search of a white, 91-93, 5 speed, leather, sunroof, low mileage GT. Gizmo was the first car we looked at but it wasn’t a GT. So we kept shopping. After driving all over Dallas and looking at ragged out mustangs, I decided I wanted to look at the first car again. Maybe I could live with an LX. After taking it on another test drive, I was sold and so was he.

    • Future plans with this car or with another one: No future plans with Gizmo. But we do have some plans for the ’67 Fastback and of course Nasty Notch.

    • Your thanks: Obviously huge thanks to K. For putting up with me while trying to find the right one to wrenching on it. You’ve put as much if not more blood, sweat and tears into this car. Thanks to BJ, Brent, Rusty, Joe, Derrick, Clark, Jay, and anyone else who has wrenched on it over the years. You guys rock and I love ya.

does the person submitting their car for the feature car dill out the write up when they turn their submission in or is it after they are selected that they are asked to fill out the mini-bio?

Some people are like slinkies, they don't really have a purpose but they bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs.
